Brand Leadership Simon and Schuster

Question: Depict about the Brand Leadership for Simon and Schuster? Answer: It is said that the pioneer is answerable for the making of more pioneers in the association (Hargreaves, and Fink 2012). In the event that a pioneer can deal with the workers in the association, the representatives will follow the strides of the pioneer and may follow a similar authority style in future. There are two kinds of initiative that are predominant in the associations. The names of the authority styles characterize themselves. Value-based authority depends on exchanges between the pioneer and the representatives, that is, under the value-based administration the workers work, just when they feel that they will be profited (Hargreaves, and Fink, 2012). In actuality, transformational initiative is situated in change or change (Hargreaves, and Fink, 2012). The representatives learn new things and figure out how to take up difficulties, which helps the in the development of the association just as the workers. Transformational initiative advances a feeling of participation among the representatives, singular improvement of the workers and focuses on the authoritative advancement through the improvement of the workers (Tannenbaum, Weschler and Massarik, 2013). Value-based initiative arrangements to cooperate through images, clarifies the objectives of the representatives (Tannenbaum, Weschler and Massarik, 2013). The workers know the objectives that they have to accomplish in the associations however participation, correspondences and odds of developments tremendously need the associations. The review will investigate the attributes of the value-based and the transformational administration. The review will concentrate on the announcement Transactional authority has no spot in contemporary associations and examine the announcement. It will additionally assess whether the announcement is pleasant or non-pleasing in the current setting. Examination Value-based administration has no spot in contemporary associations is totally pleasing. The contemporary associations work in a totally extraordinary way from the manner in which it used to work previously. Prior, after the representatives finished work, the pioneer used to declare the prizes once the worker accomplished work. Despite what might be expected, the worker was being rebuffed if the representative used to submit any slip-up. Nonetheless, the style is steadily reducing. These days, the associations are significantly more casual in nature. The representatives on occasion call the kindred workers companion as opposed to calling them as associates. In such a circumstance, the value-based administration, which basically puts together itself with respect to the carrot and stick hypothesis, is bit by bit getting out of date. The carrot and stick hypothesis says that once a worker performs well, the individual gets a carrot while the individual commits some error; he gets a stic k that is the individual gets rebuffed. Then again, the transformational administration keeps up a well disposed environment in the associations. The transformational pioneer offers the chance to the representatives where they can build up their thoughts and offer ascent to the advancements that are required for the associations to remain ahead in the market. In this way, in contemporary associations, the value-based authority won't be reasonable and transformational administration will be most appropriate for the association. In an article by Sophon Shadraconis, Organizational Leadership in Times of Uncertainty: Is Transformational Leadership the Answer? Investigates the utilization of the transformational initiative and the handiness in the associations in the current occasions (Shadraconis, 2013). The contemporary associations are continually evolving. With the developing rivalry in the market and the consistent change in the association, the representatives need to stay aware of the change. When the pioneer actualizes value-based authority, the workers will be in the dread of discipline on the off chance that they do anything incorrectly. In a circumstance, when the association is under consistent change, the dread among the workers isn't satisfactory in the association (Tannenbaum, Weschler and Massarik , 2013). Then again, the transformational administration will assist the workers with achieving the objectives. Thus, during when the association is experiencing consistent change, the representatives should be propelled instead of being frightened. Thus, transformational authority will be most appropriate for the associations in the general public. The transformational administration is viewed as appropriate for the associations that are working in the evolving condition, fundamentally due to the four Is that describes the authority style. The four Is are: Admired Influence Rousing Motivation Scholarly Stimulation Singular Consideration The principal I manages the impact of the pioneer on the representatives. The pioneer impacts the workers in a positive way, and affected by the pioneer the representatives can perform well in the associations (Hackman, and Johnson, 2013). The subsequent I tells about the moving inspiration. Both the words helpful and the inspiration that the pioneer forces on the representatives show the manner in which the pioneer handles the workers. The representative gets the motivation from the pioneer and the persuaded by the pioneer who embraces the transformational authority style. The third I that manages the scholarly incitement tells about the insight of the pioneer and the strategies that are applied by the pioneer to deal with the workers (Goleman, Boyatzis and McKee, 2013). The pioneer needs to deal with the representatives insightfully and invigorate with the difficulties when the time requires the pioneer to do as such. At long last, the individual thought causes the pioneer to think about the development of the workers. Alongside the development of the association, a transformational pioneer contemplates the development of the representatives and attempts to comprehend the individual qualities of the workers. A transformational pioneer focuses on the improvement of the individuals by causing them to comprehend the significance of authority and instruct them to turn out to be better pioneers later on. The transformational pioneer considers the association well as the representatives who are working in the association (Boyatzis and McKee, 2013). Along these lines, the pioneer considers the association an entirety. The situational initiative hypothesis by Hershey and Blanchard is significant in clarifying the transformational and value-based authority. Figure: Hershey and Blanchard model of situational initiative (Source: Blanchard and Hersey, 1997) The model chiefly discusses the way that the authority styles ought to be applied by the development level of the workers. In telling and selling stage the workers are juvenile. The pioneer mostly mentions to the workers what they ought to do in the telling and selling stage. This part depicts a value-based administration. In the end, the workers develop and they figure out how to take part. Along these lines, the taking an interest and the assigning stage for the most part manages the transformational authority where the advancement of the representative is given more consideration. Examples of the viability of the value-based administration can be found in associations in present day also. The associations, which are steady and would not change with the adjustment in nature or the market, can adequately actualize the value-based initiative. The legislative association can actualize the value-based authority on the grounds that the competency level of the workers won't be tried in the administrative associations. The representatives will work as indicated by the interest of the legislature and might change as per the states of the administration. The legislature would not pay the workers as per the presentation of the representatives; the compensation may change if the administration gets shaky. What's more, there are lesser possibilities that the administrative associations will change their style of working (Wagner et al., 2012). It tends to be said that value-based administration would not have the option to cause the representatives to comprehend the estimat ion of progress and thus it is significant transformational authority is utilized in the private firms and the value-based initiative is saved for the legislative associations (Gaines, 2012). In any case, as indicated by Contingency initiative hypothesis by Fiedler, an administration style can't be known as the best authority style for any association (Fiedler and Chemers, 1967). A pioneer may need to change the style of administration as indicated by the interest of the association. An insightful pioneer can execute both the transformational and the value-based administration. The pioneer can deal with the representatives and rouse them to play out a specific work as transformational authority (Rodd, 2012). A similar pioneer can step through the examination of the workers by giving them a test and declaring a cost for the person who finished the assignment. Along these lines, the pioneer can actualize value-based initiative however in an alternate way (Aaker and Joachimsthaler, 2012). It is significant for the pioneer to complete a test to see the learning of the workers. Henceforth, a transformational pioneer can change the style to examine the representatives and asses s crafted by the workers. Fiedler has additionally presented a model that will assist the pioneer with understanding whether the representatives are upbeat working in the association (Hargreaves and Fink, 2012). The pioneer can do the test by requesting that they give their input in regards to the manner in which they work with the co-representatives. Along these lines, the pioneer will have the option to know the purpose for the disappointment of the representatives in the association (Spillane, 2012). End After the assessment of the value-based and the transformational administrations styles, the announcement Transactional initiative has no spot in contemporary associations is completely pleasing. It has been assessed that value-based authority styles is reasonable for the association, which doesn't experience any cha

Policy Regulations for Uber and Taxi Industry - 2200 Words

Policy Regulations for Uber and Taxi Industry (Research Paper Sample) Content: Policy Regulations for Uber and Taxi Industry Student's Name: Institution Affiliation: Policy Regulations for Uber and Taxi Industry The rise of Uber has put the taxi industry in a severe crisis. The industry once dominated the transportation market. But now the emergence of Uber as the most successful ride-sharing firm poses a huge threat to the taxi industry. The transportation market has been the stronghold of the taxicabs, but now they are facing a possible elimination. What makes Uber more successful is the integration of the mobile app technology that enables the consumer to share information with the driver. The firm has gained a huge market share since it was started in 2009 (Kamga, Yazici, & Singhal, 2015). The state legislatures and the local governments in the United States have implemented laws to regulate Uber and the taxi industry. Issues that Uber encounters with the Taxi Industry Uber is a technology firm that offers to ride-sha re services to more than 58 countries around the world. Besides, it provides platforms where independent contractors and riders can link up with the use of an app. The firms have experienced a rapid success since it was initiated. This is because their services cost less than those of the traditional taxis. Their effective and cost efficient services have created a stiff competition for other firms with similar services. However, challenges have always emerged in the form of social and technical, legal and technical hindrances. For instance, there has been a major standoff between the traditional taxi industry and Uber (Khirkam & Lien, 2016). The biggest issues faced by Uber and the taxi industry concerns the legal action. This includes protection and safety of the customers, driver information, rider and driver security and an adequate insurance coverage (Syvret, 2016). The government needs to address this critical factors so as to prevent a standoff between the two industries. Th e enactment of effective policies will help in reducing internal struggles that Uber and the taxi industry faces. The taxi sector argues that Uber has an unfair advantage. These allegations are based on the notion that Uber is not confronted with the same licensing requirements as the taxi sector. Moreover, some indict Uber of not vetting their drivers which lead to potentially unsafe situations for the customers. In fact, some major cities have outlawed the ride-sharing services such as Uber due to different concerns (Schneider, 2015). The firms have also been faced with various litigations including one filed by its independent contractors. The conflicts between the two sectors have forced the government to come up with news policies to regulate them. Uber has been highly commended for enabling the independent contractor to earn more money with their cars. Besides, the consumers are offered convenient means of getting around at an affordable cost. It is evident that the ride-share services have outshined the traditional taxi industry (Sun & Edara, 2015). As a result, the taxi sector has always strived to keep up with the new competition. The surge pricing technique has been severely criticized for imposing higher fares during peak hours. Government reaction and regulation of the taxi industry Taxis and hire cars are among the most regulated industries in the United States. The government implemented entry restrictions to this industry. There are some primary requirements that a firm must meet so as to operate the taxi and car hire services. These regulations are meant to limit competition. Therefore, all the states are required to review their rules. These restrictions are justified on the need to enhance safety. The regulatory restrictions have significantly reduced competition for the taxi operators (Kamga, Yazici, & Singhal, 2015). Besides, it has enabled them to come up with incentives for innovation and exploration of new means of cutting costs and offe ring better services for customer satisfaction. The government has achieved the regulation means through certification schemes for these industries. The presence of Uber in the market has forced the legislators to draft new policies to govern this ride sharing system. These policies is always an obstacle to the expansion of a company because of the resource that must spend so as to submit with the regulatory requirements. On the other hand, the taxicab industry is regulated by different policies (Rauch & Schleicher, 2013). Therefore, the expansion opportunities have significantly been limited by the government regulations. Regulation has been a major challenge for Uber and the Taxi industry. These firms have been subjected to more legitimate and regulatory requirements same as other businesses. Taxi Lobbies have continuously pressurized their governments to ban Uber in various cities (Schneider, 2015). They assert that Uber has completely disabled their business. Besides, their dri vers are no subjected to similar restrictions as the licensed taxi drivers (Schneider, 2015). As a result, the government has been forced to implement effective policies that will help in ensuring that the firms are provided with an equal platform to conduct their businesses. In fact, some cities have completely blocked the expansion of Uber businesses. The regulations enacted by the government aims at ensuring that the firms adhere to proper safety standards in transportation. Another policy enacted is the safe ride checklist which requires customers to confirm the license plate number. Besides, it provides for verification of the driver's name and appearance before boarding the vehicle. The regulations require that the firms should have a team of safety experts to vet the drivers. This policy is aimed at ensuring that the customers are provided with safe rides (Schneider, 2015). It is a required that all the vehicles that carry out the taxi services be properly insured. The insur ance cover is mandatory for the driver and riders safety. Despite Uber being successful in some countries, various countries have regulatory hindrances that have curtailed the successful operation of Uber services. The biggest obstacle is a failure to issue out licenses for Uber services. However, the taxi industry in these countries are fully protected and are quickly issued out with licenses. This law mandates that the driver should have healthcare insurance. Besides, there should be training programs to enhance driving skills, decrease liability for insurance costs and minimize risks from negligent drivers (Yang, Wong, & Wong, 2002). As a result, the law ensured that these firms operate in safe situations. Uber and the taxi industry are now regulated by similar policies of taxi safety and quality-related regulations. These laws are aimed at enhancing consumer safety, driver safety and service quality. The consumer safety policy comprises driver's training requirements, roadworth iness tests, and maximum vehicle ages. The driver safety entails the provision of in-cab cameras and protective screens. While improving the quality of service include driver's background check (Sun & Edara, 2015). Besides, the vehicles are supposed to meet a specified minimum safety level set by the government. Government regulation policies The role of regulation is to specify the minimum safety standards required for the taxis. This is because the passengers have limited ability to evaluate the mechanical conditions of the taxis. The government has come up with well-targeted safety regulations that are backed up by an appropriate framework of enforcement and sanctions (Syvret, 2016). This system applies to all the ride-sharing companies and the private car owners. The Uber are also subjected to the regulations that require vehicles to be roadworthy. However, the fare regulation does not apply to both Uber and taxi industry. This has led to a stiff price competition. Most cabs se em to charge a maximum allowable fare. Uber has a standard fare that is set depending on the distance traveled (Syvret, 2016). The use of mobile app technology enables the company to establish the prices for their services. The policies on hire cars have an entry restriction that is based on the total number of cars. Uber services are more of car hire than the taxi. Therefore, their argument is that they cannot be subjected to the same policies that govern the taxicab industry. Another policy is compensation which entails cash transfers to the losers. Some taxi companies have event taken the approach of lobbying. This is a legislative plan aimed to urge the legislatures to enact laws that would subject Uber and other ride-sharing companies to the same regulations governing the taxi industry (Syvret, 2016). The main reason why the government regulates transportation service sector is to enhance public safety. The standard taxi policies are considered as anticompetitive. However, gov ernment impose licensing fees and requires an additional permit for picking up airport passengers. The regulations protect the passengers in different ways. First, the passengers are sure on the fare that they will pay. This is because all fares are indicated on the taxi cab meter. The conditions of the vehicle must pass the physical inspection carried out on an annual basis. The regulatory framework that was set by the government varied depending on the location. However, many cities share similar regulations. Most of these cities use the medallion system to regulate the taxi industry. This system requires that a cab driver should lease a medallion to operate. Apparently, many cities have limited the supply of the medallions so as to regulate the industry further. For instance, New York City has about 13,437 taxis in operations with licensed medallions (Kamga, Yazici, & Singhal, 2015). Other policies include criminal background checks and fare structures. Before, the rise of Uber , the Taxi industry was willing to adhere to ...

Dartmouth LGBT Students

Dartmouth LGBT Students September 15, 2012 Dartmouth College is a trailblazer for LGBT students. Dartmouth LGBT students will have an affinity house by 2013 or 2014. Dartmouth, a university that ranks among the most welcoming to LGBT students and faculty, is moving ahead with plans to build the house. Money has been set aside for the project from the schools capital budget. Its a project that was championed by former Dartmouth president Jim Yong Kim (who is now the president of the World Bank) and spearheaded by Pam Misener, the Office of Pluralism and Leaderships longtime but outgoing advisor to LGBTQA students. While there was already a room devoted to the LGBT community at Dartmouth (in Robinson Hall), this affinity house marks a major accomplishment for Misener in setting out to be a leader among American universities with regard to LGBT inclusivity. The LGBT community at Dartmouth College is a vibrant one, one that grows stronger each and every year. With this house, Pam Misener has most certainly left her mark on the community. At a school where just about 50% of students are members of fraternities and sororities (although most dont live within the fraternity and sorority houses), this gives LGBT students another option to become part of a community that welcomes and embraces them. We salute Dartmouth College for continuing to trail-blaze the landscape of LGBT rights. It is truly inspirational and other universities should follow in its example. Poverty Of Americ Born With A Wooden Spoon - 885 Words

In the documentary â€Å"Poverty in America: Born with a Wooden Spoon† we get an in depth look about what it is like to live in poverty in America. In the early moments of the documentary we are informed that the poor people of America are a diverse group of people. These people can be put into sub group and each of them has certain different characteristics. The first and most obvious group is the homeless or otherwise known as the urban poverty. These people are scattered around inner cities and it is very easy to see how hard their life is and what kind of struggle they are going through. The next group is the group of situational poverty. Situational poverty comes about when something abrupt occurs in someone’s life that causes him or her to be forced into poverty. Examples of this can be divorce, losing ones jobs, or sudden illness. Another different kind of poverty is the working class poverty. These are the people that have jobs but make so little that they canno t get themselves above the poverty line. Next are immigrants they provide cheap necessary labor for the country to flourish but yet they are still consider to be apart of poverty. They often do not even work for themselves, they leave their homelands and live on their own just so they can get jobs to send back money home to their families. The middle class can also have people in poverty. They try to cover it up by getting themselves into loads of credit card debt and eventually fall below the poverty line to the

Police History Paper - 1117 Words

Abstract Starting In 1829, Sir Robert Peel began developing his theory of policing. These nine principles are as relevant today as they were in the 1800s. Peel established the Metropolitan Police when he served as Home Secretary of England. Since Sir Robert Peel introduced his principles of policing in the early 1800s, our country has continued to follow his ideas of effective policing. Community policing is based on Peels concept of prevention. According to one of Peel’s principals, the real key for policing is The police are the people and the people are the police. Peel believed that prevention of crime could be accomplished without intruding into the lives of citizens. Sir Robert Peels first principle was that, â€Å"The basic†¦show more content†¦By providing adequate training on the use of force and having the publics trust and respect can ensure that force is only used to the extent necessary. When individuals have little or no respect towards the police, they are most likely to ignore the requests or demands of officers. This can lead to the officer having to use force in order to gain control of a situation. Peel felt that â€Å"The test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with it.† (Westminster Police Department, 2012) When police are faced with dispersing large crowds, it is necessary for the public to have the respect to follow police orders. When individuals lack trust and respect for the police, riots may occur, which can also lead to arrests, serious injuries, and even death. Sir Robert Peels principles and Community Policing go hand in hand and share the same concepts and goals in policing. One of the distinct similarities between Peels approach and Community Policing is that prevention of crimes is the number one priority. I believe that Peel felt morals played an important role in effective policing. It is important that police officers think things through and have the best interests in mind before making decisions. Peel’s principals â€Å"Police seek and preserve public favour not by catering to public opinion but by constantly demonstrating absolute impartial service to the law†,Show MoreRelatedHistory of Police1058 Words   |  5 PagesThe history of Police Paper Samuel G. Feelings presented in dreams Essay Example For Students

Feelings presented in dreams Essay During the night of July 23-24, 1895, Freud dreamed a historic dream. He called it Irmas Injection. Four years later, Freud concluded that dreams are wish fulfillments. This was the first dream he had submitted to a detailed interpretation (Gay, P. 1998). Freud was living at Bellevue, a resort villa in a Vienna suburb, at the time of the dream. He was very hard at work when this dream occurred. The dream was of family news and professional concerns. It was a large hall in which we were receiving many guests, among them Irma, a friend of the family. A young lady I had been treating psychoanalytically (Gay, P. 1998). Freud reproaches her for not accepting his solution and tells her that if she still has pains, it is your fault. She replies that the choking pains in her throat, stomach, and abdomen are more severe than of what he knows. Freud studies her and wonders if he has not perhaps overlooked some organic ailment. He looks down her throat and finds a white patch and some grayish scabs formed like the turbinal bones of the nose. The dream scene then grows crowded with physician-friends of Freuds; Oscar Rie, Breuer, and Fliess. Somehow all these doctors, except for Fliess, proved to have been responsible for Irmas persistent pains. He dreams that Rie has thoughtlessly given Irma an injection with a syringe that was not clean Freud interpreted a lot from this dream. I will not claim that I have completely uncovered the meaning of this dream or that its interpretation is without gaps (Gay, P. 1998). He recalled the reception of guests as an anticipation for his wifes birthday party. The chemical trimethylamin that was used reflected on his friend, Fliess theories about sexual chemistry because the dream involved a woman. The unclean syringe showed his excessive pride in the way he carefully kept his syringes clean. He concluded that the dream can be labeled as, worry over health, ones own and that of others, and a doctors conscientiousness (Strachey, J. 1968). The burden of the wish the dream portrayed was that Irmas suffering should be truly seen as not his fault but the fault of others. H. Interpretation of Dreams A survey was completed in Ms. Melvilles second period class, consisting of twenty-three students and Ms. Melville. Eighty-eight percent stated that they dreamed of kissing someone or being kissed by someone. Kissing someone is interpreted as suggesting an acceptance of that person as potentially a new relationship. It can also mean that you are seeking to develop a quality belonging to that other person in yourself. Being kissed by someone indicates that you are appreciated and loved for yourself. A single kiss, an example is a kiss on the forehead, symbolizes a blessing of a spiritual kind. Kissing a dead person is an omen for a long happy life. On the other hand, kiss a baby and something you thought was difficult will go well. I. Why are Dreams Forgotten? Most people take very little interest in their dreams. Anyone who pays attention to their dreams over a period of time will have more dreams than usual. It means memory of dreams is easier (Strachey, J. 1968). Only the things that are odd and stand out in dreams are remembered. When a dream is forgotten in the morning, it may never be recollected during the course of the day. It is important to remember all details to make out what the true meaning of the dream might be. Twenty-nine percent of the class stated that they remember their dreams, while 67% said that they dont, and 4% said that dreams are sometimes remembered. J. Conclusion Many psychologists believe that feelings presented in dreams usually a single emotion such as fear, anger, or joy may play a role in the brains ability to handle various tasks in life. Hidden feelings are often surfaced, which helps people to understand themselves better. When we understand our dreams we can understand ourselves. This is the significance of dreaming. Therefore, contrary to some belief, dreaming can be very meaningful.

The country recently has developed several private aircraft carriers that connect to world major cities at affordable rates which are further providing influx of tourists. The scope of the current report deals in analysis of tourism trends in India in the current and past scenarios. Tourism Trends in India The tourism industry in India is experiencing high growth associated with development in infrastructure and tourism facilities across the country. There are variety types of tourism experience that is being offered by the country to international and domestic tourists(Raj, 2007). Due to the diversified nature of land and presence of mountains, desert, beaches, jungles and many other facilities there are a varied type of experiences offered. Currently India occupies almost 0.9% share in global tourism industry and growing at a rate of 12% CAGR. There is a sharp increase in tourism from the year 2000 from previous trends of 7% previously. This increase in tourism in recent years has depicted high earning associated with foreign exchange of 15% as well(Crooks, 2011). There has been a tremendous turnaround in international tourists arrivals since 2002 with reversing of temporary declining trends. The Government of India has recently taken initiative to promote Incredible India throughout the world. Country of Origin of Tourists India has a steady influx of tourism especially during its winter months from October to March from foreign location and during summer months of May to September for trekking and skiing destinations(Ghimire, 2013). Apart from these the jungles of Ranthambore, Sariska, Jim Corbett National Park, Sundarban National Park and many more continue to attract tourists all year long due to their heritage of Royal Bengal Tiger, which has become a rare species. The countries of origin of these tourists constitute Switzerland, USA, Australia, Brazil, China and other countries. Figure 1 : International Tourists India Source: (lucknowobserver.com, Retrieved on 2nd April 2017) Most of the international well known television channels constitutes the prime tourists for India as Discovery channel, Animal Planet, National Geographic and so on(Jamal, 2009). Duration of Stay Earlier trends of tourists depicted shorter stays in India as there was relatively lower insights regarding various places of travel. Now with steady promotion of various trekking expeditions on the Himalayas, Packaged tours across Thar desert in Charriot on Wheels, Ayurvedic tour in Kerala has attracted longer stays(Pan, 2008). There is a predominance tourists for medical purpose in India as well from neighboring countries. India has a developed infrastructural medical facility at affordable rates which leads to many from neighboring nations visit the country. Tourists especially from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal and other countries often come to India to cure any type of disease or obtain advanced medical facility in the country(De Arellano, 2007). With India relaxing the norms and issuing of visas on arrivals, there is a greater influx of tourists in the country. Demand of International Tourists In the past international tourists had sought to primarily visit the cultural heritage and Wonder of the World Taj Mahal situated in India. There are several palaces in Rajasthan which had attracted attention from international as well as domestic tourists. But recent development in infrastructural and tourism facilities with major international players coming into being has changed India as a tourism destination altogether(Balmford, 2009). India is now a country which has a presence of large hotel and luxury group chains as JW Marriott, Taj Group of Hotels, Radisson and Oberoi Grand. These hoteliers are offering luxury stays accompanied with guided and packaged tours at affordable rates. There is also development of Himalayan trekking, mountaineering, para-gliding and river rafting adventure that has led to arousing international tourists attention. Hence, against earlier trends it has been noted that international trekking experiences as Kanchenjunga, Gochela and other peaks gets a steady influx of international tourists who seek adventure. Further there is a recent development of scuba diving and snorkeling in Andaman and Nicobar Island which is getting a steady flow of tourist from domestic as well as international players(Moutinho, 2011). India also offers a paradise for food lovers with a variety of culinary experiences from various parts of the country. Various food travellers visit the country in order to taste and experience the variety of cuisines offered by the country. Demand of Domestic Tourists The domestic travellers within India are also particularly high with majority people travelling for leisure as well as for religion. With growth and development of Indian service sector and booming IT sector there is a high number of domestic traveller who are exploring new destinations and traveling across the country. This recent trend has led to emergence of a number of aircraft carriers in the country and home stays and local hotel growth. From the past trend of domestic travellers traveling for religious purposes and recent trend has increased due to inclusion of helicopter rides to provide access to various inaccessible places as Vaishna Devi, Kedarnath Dham, Badrinath Dham and so on. Mind Map The below depicted mind map is a reflection of the various types of tourists in international and domestic sector that travels across India. This mind-map provides a minor insight into the various tourism activities that is taken place in the country. Figure 2: Mind Map for Tourism in India Source: Author Conclusion While India receives a steady influx of tourism it needs to design sustainable tourism within its country. Low environmental standards, high incidence of crime and low promotion in international markets have led to various tourist from diverting away from Indian tourism. As Indian Rupee rate is comparatively lower, it offers an attractive destination for foreign tourists and travellers as well as for domestic travellers to travel at affordable rates. Hence, the government of the country needs to devise ways and means such that it is able to develop a sustainable tourism model for India. References Balmford, A. B. (2009). The film jaws Essay Example For Students

The film jaws Essay In this essay i intend to discuss and analyse the techniques used to create tension in the film Jaws. Jaws has had a great influence on films today , films such as Deep blue sea and the sequels of Jaws , all blended into the idea of a monstrous sea creature reaping havock on a small town idea. However Jaws was very much influenced itself by the book Moby Dick , which also talks about a man getting revendge on a shark for taking something loved from him. Jaws is part of the horror/thriller genre, and its general conventions , freaky music and dark, stormy settings. We will write a custom essay on The film jaws specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will see how these conventions could build up tension in the film. In attack two the camera techniques are used very carefully to create a significant amount of tension in the film. Towards the beginning of the scene, the camera uses tracking to follow the young boy run up the beach to his mother, this focuss just on him, immediatly showing us that he will be the child to get killed, but we dont know when. There is then a midshot of the boy asking his mother for 10 minuetes longer in the water, this shows the relationship between mother and son, which will underline the tragedy of the boys death. The camera then takes a closeup of brody watching the water , the closeup on his face shows hes tense and anticipating somethings going to happen. A dog then runs into the water , they use a tracking shot of the dog to show the peace has been distruped, anticipating the sharks presence. There is then a close up of the dog swimming with his stick, this is a happy moment which acts as a sence of relief. The next closeup of the boy on his lilo, shows us his vunerability, another thing to make us think he is the one to be killed. A midshot of brody watching the water then shows hes aware of the shark but not positive of its presence, his anxiety makes the viewer just as nervous as he is. There is next a long shot of a woman int he water screaming, this immediatly makes us tense we think somethings happened to the woman, but shes fine, this acts as short relief. There are then two different feelings captured by a tracking shot , there is a contrast between the boys peaceful singing and the man franticly calling his dog build up the tension, show us the mood of the beach. Suddenly there is a close-up of legs under water, shows us the shark is watching and moving in, focusing on its victim. The attack is getting very close, the young boy has no idea. The attack is then seen in the distance using a long shot, this is an overview of the of the action, we still cant see the shark properly , making our imaginations build up tension , in thereselves. A close up is used on brody, making us feel his emotions of terror, realisation. The general panic of the beach is then captured by jump shots , showing us the confusion and panic, making our hearts race. A mid-shot then follows the lilo washing up on the shore , brings back the calm , but the blood red lilo reveals to us that it was alex who was attacked. Making us then feel for his mother. All these shots and techniques in this attack show how the camera angles build up alot of tension in not just this scene but in the hole film. Another key technique of building up tension in the film , is the music. The biggest tension builder in the film must be the crescendo, which is the piece of music that plays just before every attack, the music tells us the shark has spotted its victim and builds up, mor and more until the attack has finished. The contrast of music and the horrors of the scene espcially helps build tension in attacks one and two. The contrasts between the nice calm , peaceful, funfilled music on the beach with the horror of the attack show us what was there before the tragedy, and what it just killed . .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 , .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .postImageUrl , .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 , .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84:hover , .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84:visited , .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84:active { border:0!important; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84:active , .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84 .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ub81b551a504d1aedda958d1dc28a5c84:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Human Emotion in Equilibrium EssayMusic is truelly the ruler of our emotions, therefore tense music like crescendos make use tence also, whereas calm music makes us feel relieved and safe. Therefore if the two are contrasted together it makes us jump from one to the next, building great tension. The character representation in Jaws is also used as a means to create tension. The stereopical white male heroes in the film help create tension in the film because of there contrasting personalitys. Quint is very experienced at sea however hopper is wrecksless and eager , posh little colledge boy. Whereas Brodys very nervous and unsure. People with these contrasting personalitys wouldnt get along in a normal situation, but just imagine the atmosphere when they were stuck on a tiny boat in the middle of the ocean under threat of being attacked by a great white shark. They had to bite there tongues and get along, this situation in the scene makes the atmosphere very tense. Through the film the shark is gradually revealed to us , but why dont we see the whole shark straight away? Our imaginations are the answer, if we dont see much of the shark it lets out imaginations run wild, the shark could be as big and hidious as we want them to be, Imagination being more powerful than reality, like when you lie in bed at night, for example, and you here creeking noices above you, your imagination starts and you imagine it to be a ghost or a murder getting ready to kill your family, when in reality its just a rat or the wind. Another very small but significant way of creating tension used in Jaws is the use of signs and codes. The fire on the beach fore instance builds tension without us knowing because red is a code for danger, the music is also a big code for danger, lets us know when something bad is going to happen. The narrative structure of Jaws also helps to build tension. The moments of tramatic relief help make the tense parts more tense. If the film was tense all the way through it would become a bore, we wouldnt jump anymore, therefore the narrative structure has been carefully planned to make the tense parts extremly tense, without this strategy the film wouldnt be as tense and shocking as it is today. Throughout Jaws there are many things that have been carefully grafted to make the film as tense as possible and a success. The use of music, camera angles, the contrast between the characters representations, the signs and codes, and the narrative structure of the film have all been blended together to make an equilibrium of tension. Without anyone of these things the film wouldnt be nearly as tense, its the small things that count in life.

The various exit strategies that investors may use and the Essay

The various exit strategies that investors may use and the implications for commercialization - Essay Example The exit strategy of the investors is in line with the objectives of the organization and the plans for future growth (Mayo, 2010). The various methods of liquidating the stakes of the company include issuance of the Initial Public Offerings, Merger and Acquisition, Sell-out of the company and transfer of shares to another family member. The exit strategies of the investors are also influenced by the objectives of commercialization that requires attaining the best price for exit of the investment position. Exit strategies used by investors The majority of the stakes in an organization are held by the shareholders who have invested in the companies for future growth with an objective of the maximization of wealth. The attraction of investors by the organization depends on the provision of exit strategies provided to them. The exit strategies of the investors provide them with the opportunity to liquidate their investments in the companies in terms of converting their shareholdings int o cash amounts. The exit strategy of the investors falls in the same line with that of the organization which demands a higher market price against the prevailing intrinsic value of the stocks (Butler, 1993). The investors may be institutional investors or venture capitalists or angel investors who own the equity of the business from the time of start up. The investors look for a high return from the investments and an exit strategy over a period of 3 to 7 years. The exit strategies of the investors revolve around the management decisions of issuance of IPO of the company, entering into the process of the mergers and acquisitions, sell out of the company stakes or hand-over of business to another member of the family. The companies look to issue Initial Public Offering by selling the shares held by the held by stakeholders to the public for trading in the public stock exchange. In the process of issue of shares to the public, the investors would be able to liquidate their position a nd exit their position of investments (Northcott, 1992). When the investors sell a part of the stake, the investors loose their ownership control over the decisions of the management. In cases where merger and acquisition takes place, the buy out of the company by another larger player would enable the investors to exit their position of shareholdings in the company. In the process of merger and acquisition, the stocks bought by the acquiring company make provision for the investors of the acquired company to exit their position of investment. In case of sell-out of the company to another player in the industry, the existing investors would be able to cash out their investments in the company. The handover of the management to another family business could also be an exit strategy for the investors in order to cash out their investments. Implications of commercialization The aspect of commercialization has significant implications on the exit strategy of the investors. The various c onsiderations from the point of view of commercialization are the time of exit for the investors from their position of investment, the target group to which the stakes of the company should be sold and the method of exit preferred by the company. The objective of commercializat

Sample Cyber Security Profile Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Sample Cyber Security Profile - Essay Example According to many publications, NIST is very proactive in this element as one of the main is attacks on User Domain. There are several types of attacks on the User Domain that are prevalent, as they can be quite successful against an uninformed or untrained employee. By implementing good company policies and ensuring that best practices against these attacks are used, an organization should be able to mitigate the risks found in the User Domain. Within the realm of User Domain, NIST is also very comprehensive in its understanding spoofing and DDoS. One of the worst vulnerabilities for user domains is insider attacks. Insider attacks occur. For instance, denial of service and spoofing are one the most common themes that occur. The problem is the fact that intercepting authentication or other sensitive information can be executed with the current WAN technology since it utilizes the traditional TCP/IP in user domains. (Best Practices for the Security 2013)Moreover, spoofing can also be conducted since an intruder can deceive the network that it recognizes a possible unauthorized access. The problem with installing firewalls in a user domain is the fact that they are fully feasible. Insider attacks occur when one user domain gains more privilege than the other user and shares that information. Tipton (2005) This becomes extremely dangerous because it allows the hacker to have one central location to exploit information. (Best P ractices for the Security 2013) Inside attacks can be vast and potent depending on the type of attack. For instance, an executing script can copy sensitive information and can make one central machine a master. This can be detrimental to a data breach. This master to slave configuration can be used with full throttle for malicious attacks.

One of the Free

One of the Freedom Fighters; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. He was an American clergyman, activist, and prominent leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience. A Baptist minister, King became a civil rights activist early in his career. He led the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1957, serving as its first president. Kings efforts led to the 1963 March on Washington, where King delivered his I Have a Dream speech. On October 14 1964, King received the Nobel Peace Prize for combating racial inequality through nonviolence. In the next few years leading up to his death, he expanded his focus to include poverty and the Vietnam War. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and Congressional Gold Medal in 2004; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was established as a U.S. federal holiday in 1986. Hundreds of streets in the U.S. and beyond have been renamed in his honor. Here’s an excerpt from his famous speech â€Å"I have a dream†: I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.

The Scope of Woolf’s Feminism in A Room of One’s Own Essay -- Woolf A

The Scope of Woolf’s Feminism in A Room of One’s Own Missing Works Cited A highly contested statement on women and fiction, Virginia Woolf’s extended essay A Room of One’s Own has been repeatedly reviewed, critiqued, and analyzed since its publication in 1929. Arnold Bennett, an early twentieth-century novelist, and David Daiches, a literary critic who wrote an analysis entitled Virginia Woolf in 1942 (Murphy 247), were among those to attempt to extricate the themes and implications of Woolf’s complex essay. The two critics deal with the often-discussed feminist aspect of Woolf’s essay in interestingly different ways. Bennett states that Woolf’s essay is not a feminist work, rejects the idea that Woolf’s discussion of women and fiction may lean towards the political, and reduces the essay’s scope to a collection of musings on women and fiction. Daiches responds to A Room of One’s Own in the opposite way: he claims that Woolf’s work is feminist, and Woolf’s feminism emphasizes not only women and their relationship to fiction, but all people of genius who have not had an opportunity to use it because of their lack of money and privacy. While Bennett restricts the scope of the essay to a non- feminist, completely apolitical ideology and Daiches enlarges the scope to a wide, universal feminism, Woolf’s own intention in writing A Room of One’s Own may have actually been to create a work that lay somewhere in between these two extremes. In one of the earliest reviews of A Room of One’s Own, British novelist Arnold Bennett addressed the question of feminism in the essay and concluded that Woolf was not writing from a feminist perspective. â€Å"It is a book a little about men and a great deal about women. But it is no... ...ments do point out important limits on Woolf’s feminism. As Arnold Bennett says, Woolf’s concerns are not political; although our modern definition of feminism is wider than Bennett’s was, Woolf’s lack of political interest does certainly limit the scope of her feminism. David Daiches’s critique of the essay points out another important characteristic of Woolf’s feminist thought. Her feminism is not, as Daiches believes based in a â€Å"larger democratic feeling.† Woolf’s feminism is in actuality quite limited in tha t she only applies it to British, upper middleclass women writers. Virginia Woolf’s essay-which to Bennett seemed non- feminist and to Daiches seemed feminist- universalist-is, by our modern definition, feminist; however, the borders of culture, class, and profession that composed her frame of reference drastically limit the scope of Woolf’s feminism.

African American Identity Essay

It was a hot August day as sweat beat down on Thomas Jefferson Brown. He had been working in the field 2 hours before the hot sun had made its presence known. He looked back over the drying field, hoping that this crop would provide for his family better than last years crop had. Thomas watched his oldest son, Nathan, who worked down one row of the field while staring intently at the cotton plants as he picked the cotton. Nathan was a very inquisitive young man who had just yesterday asked his father what it was like being a slave for Mr. Walter Johnson. When his father had told him that in a lot of ways life was so much easier than now, Nathan had given him a look that allowed Thomas to know that his son could not understand. How could he understand? Nathan had not grown up a slave and seen that while it was extremely difficult, there was a feeling of stability to life then. Yes, Thomas Jefferson Brown had endured the beatings and yes he had watched as his Mother and eventually his sisters had been sexually assaulted, but how do you tell a young man such as Nathan that such was the way of life; it was to be expected, along with the comfort of knowing where your next meal was going to come from. Since Tomas had been freed after the great war, He s and his family had endured much more than that; having watched the lynching of two of his brothers and numerous friends. They were the lucky ones though, Thomas thought, while looking up at the fiery ball of heat known as the sun. They did not have to endure other hardships; their suffering was over. Yes it was hard for Nathan to know that life was indeed easier as a slave than a freed man, and maybe, just maybe, things would change during Nathan’s lifetime. Thomas Jefferson Brown wiped his brow once more and continued on picking the cotton? Even though the civil war ended in 1865, African Americans still faced an uphill battle to obtain rights that were afforded other Americans. This was in spite of the fact that 24 African American soldiers earned our Nations highest honor; the Congressional Medal of Honor, during the Civil War. Even with the passing of the 13th Amendment in 1865 banning slavery and the 14th Amendment giving African Americans citizenship and equal protection under the law, there were still so many other issues that would deprive African Americans of their lawful rights, such as having the first African American elected into the 41st Congress in 1869 continuing through 1901 with the 57th congress, which had no African Americans. This trend would continue until the election of 1929 before another African American was elected to congress. In 1873 the Supreme Court decision ruled that the 14th-Amendment guarantee of equal protection of the laws extended only to federal civil rights, thus removing southern states from the duty to protect the civil rights of African Americans, but it was just not their rights that were taken; but their lives as well. Between 1882 and the end of 1900, 1751 African Americans and 1105 white Americans were lynched for trying to further the African American cause (National). Given all of this discrimination and violence, it is hard to imagine that anyone would be willing to further the African American cause, but many stood ready to not only give of themselves, but perhaps even to give their life for this noble cause. African American writers were presented with these problems of equality and self esteem, and yet have truly transformed and continue to support a freed people, to obtain all of their rights. What follows is from three writers who each in his own way contributed mightily to the African American cause. They are W. E. B. Du Bois, Marcus Garvey, and Glen Loury. First, we have W. E. B. (William Edward Burghardt) Dubois, who was born on February 23, 1868 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Dubois was one of the most influential black leaders of the first half of the 20th Century. Dubois shared in the founding of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP, in 1909. He served as its director of research and editor of its magazine Crisis until 1934. He was the first African American to graduate from Harvard University, which he accomplished in 1896. At first, Dubois thought that African Americans could be freed through the Social Sciences, but quickly became disillusioned with this idea and began to believe that freedoms could only come about by agitation and protest(Chew). Dubois recognized that the African American’s of his day faced many problems, not the least of which were of the life threatening variety. After his disillusionment with helping African Americans through the social sciences, Dubois thought that African Americans needed to develop their own culture, which was definitely more American than African. Dubois enjoyed the unique African American culture, particularly that of the Negro spiritual songs. Dubois thought that African Americans should not give in to what white Americans expectations were of African Americans, but to continue to develop as a people. Dubois wrote that all people regardless of their culture, heritage, sex, should be treated as equals. Dubois also thought that African Americans should not worry about competing with the world as a group, but that they should join together to help each other. He eventually was forced to leave the United States because the government considered Dubois an agent of the Soviet Union. That is why he immigrated to Ghana, first obtaining Ghana citizenship, joined the communist party and eventually died there in 1963. Dubois was there for all future African Americans to follow his example. Dubois founding of the NAACP led to many victories for the rights of all Americans, most of which he never saw. Next we have Marcus Mosiah Garvey, who was born in Jamaica on 17 August 1887. Mr. Garvey is best remembered as a pivotal figure in the struggle for racial equality, not just in the United States but throughout the world as well. He founded the UNIA (Universal Negro Improvement Association) and African Communities League in 1914 while still in Jamaica, and also championed the ‘back to Africa’ movement of the 1920s. Of the Africans who departed, Garvey thought, some had left independently while others were brutally removed for economic gain and exploitation. Garvey perceived that the main problems facing not only African Americans, but Africans as well was that they must first go back to Africa and free their African brothers before moving on to other parts of the world. Through the organizations that Garvey had formed (UNIA and ACL), he reasoned that until Africa is free and redeemed, not only in name but in reality, no one would be free, Black or White. Garvey reasoned that no matter what one’s race was we are all bound together by the Creator, which is Spirit. The Creator has a purpose for everyone and that purpose did not include being made a slave or subject to anyone for that matter. While Dubois and Garvey did not see eye to eye on the issues involving African Americans, Garvey did align himself closely with Dr Robert Love, and Dr Loves teachings that a race could progress no further than the dignity and esteem of their women and younger girls. Garvey and Love thought that the best way to plant the seeds of dignity and self-esteem would be through the woman and younger girl. Last, we have Glen Loury, who was born in 1948. Mr. Loury is a professor of economics at Boston University while also being a consultant to the Federal Trade Commission. Mr. Loury has devoted a major portion of his career to the study of race and public policy. He is the author of ‘On the Need for Moral Leadership in the Black Community’, ‘Responsibility and Race’, ‘Impact of Affirmative Action on Equal Opportunity: A New Look’, and most recently ‘A New American Dilemma’. Mr. Loury saw many problems facing not only African American, but also all Americans, including the civil rights policies of 1960-1985, which seemed to have been based on equality of outcome rather than on equality of opportunity. Mr. Loury also thought that affirmative action policies created backlash. Loury maintained that all Americans should have equal rights with none being given favorable treatment over any other. Loury reasoned that it is hard to justify denying admission to an elite college to anyone who struggled to be able to pass the admissions exam; while admitting a member of a designated minority group, who did not work near as hard to earn his score and is only admitted based on his minority status. Such actions build resentment towards these policies and are only heightened when defenders of the policies claim that to question these policies is to engage in a racist act. Mr. Loury contends that giving preferential treatment with no sound explanation only led to more heightened tensions and is a very grievous error on the part of those who merely wish to be advocates of affirmative action. Loury did see, that there was a proper use of affirmative action, such as on police forces around the country that had a significant percentage of African American citizens and yet none on the police force. These Authors present their own conclusions and reasoning’s for what happened to the African Americans previous to, and of their own time. These writers used the influences of other African Americans and were also pioneers themselves. All of these writers believed in equality for everyone and thus did share at least one common goal. In Mr. Dubois we have a writer and scholar who originally thought that through a study of Social Sciences and doing what was right could African Americans receive their rights, and yet Dubois was able to refocus and remain firm in his opinions of helping each other and thus able to help not only the African American’s of his generation, but the ones to follow as well. Mr. Dubois saw all of the problems besetting African Americans and knew that they must unite, working together, to build a culture of their own, that would allow all African Americans to have a better life. Mr. Garvey on the other hand, perceived that until the rights and freedoms were restored in the entire African continent, Africans elsewhere would always be treated as second-class citizens. Garvey along with Dr Robert Love, thought that it was through the African women, especially the younger women, that Africans had a chance to make a difference in providing a better future. Mr. Loury saw problems that came about because of the Civil Rights movement, and that African Americans should not merely rely on being a minority to get ahead in life, but instead grab the opportunity that was before them so as not to create a political backlash. Each of these writers have stood their ground for what they believe in, and our world we live in today is better for it. Each of these writers, in their own time, helped frame not just African Americans lives but has truly transformed and continues to support a freed people, obtain all, of their rights.
